Strengthening Palliative Care in North Simcoe

Stronger Voices, Stronger Care

The North Simcoe Ontario Health Team recently hosted two Stronger Voices, Stronger Care engagement sessions focused on improving palliative care services in the region. The first session took place in person on November 13th, 2025 followed by a virtual follow-up session on January 29th, 2026.

The goal of these sessions was to bring together healthcare providers, community organizations, and partners to better understand the current state of palliative care in North Simcoe and explore opportunities to strengthen services for patients and families.

Participants shared insights on several key priorities, including improving communication and coordination between care providers, making it easier for patients and families to navigate available services, increasing community awareness about palliative care and advance care planning, and strengthening education and training for care providers and caregivers.

The discussions will help inform the development of a more coordinated palliative care pathway for North Simcoe, supporting patients and families from diagnosis through to end-of-life care.

The NSOHT would like to thank everyone who participated and shared their experiences and perspectives. Their input is helping guide the future of palliative care in our community.
